The hub for france-american exchange

Since 2001, the Terra Foundation for American Art offers ten summer fellowships to artists and art history scholars from the United States and Europe. The residency provides them with an opportunity for the independent study of American art within a framework of interdisciplinary exchange and dialogue, and in a site rich in historical and cultural significance. The program’s main aim is to foster an intercultural dialogue on American art. The eight-week residency, held from mid-June to mid-August in the historic village of Giverny, seeks to widen the creative and research horizons of resident fellows, invites them to reflect on different methodologies and interpretive models and gives them the opportunity to create an intellectual network for lifelong exchange.
