Former Poet Laureate Willam Jay Smith presents an excerpt of my Friend Tom-The Poet Playwright Tenessee Williams,which will be published by the University of Mississippi press later this year.

About William Jay Smith 

William Jay Smith was born in 1918. He studied at Washington university in St. Louis with Tenessee Williams. Smith is the author of over fifty book of poerty, children's verses, translations, criticisms, and memoir. He is currently a member of the Library's writers' Council
